This past Sunday Deborah, myself, our daughters, and so many special family and friends of our church gathered for a Senior Tea. My daughter Kendal and my niece Kori were honored as the Senior young ladies of our church.

I love the variety of teas at a tea party. My favorite is black tea and I love Chai. As a tea bag is emerged in hot water, the tea leaves are triggered to move and start the diffusion process. It is fascinating to watch the water as it changes till it’s rich in color, taste, and smell.

Over the years we nurture our children in God’s word. Every time they attend a church service, VBS, camp, and hear the word of God our homes, it is diffused in them so that they have the fragrance of Christ Jesus. We read in Pro 22:5 NIV; “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

On this Transformation Tips Tuesday I want us to recall all the people that have encouraged our children over the years. If you don’t have children, recall all the people that encouraged you. Take a moment to thank someone that has meant so much to you in your Christian walk.

Change is inevitable. Mondays are are no exception for change. It may be unwanted or desired. I love the quote; “If nothing changed, there’d be no butterfly’s”. I have seen this shared by Walt Disney and a few others. The scripture that comes to mind is from Ecc 3:11; “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

On this Mindset Monday how will you handle change? I encourage us all to say a breath prayer and ask God to equip us to handle that change because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! We can’t always fathom the grand plan but we can choose how we handle it as it unfolds.

The Holy Spirit is alive in each of us. In the song Holy Spirit come, he sings “Come like a flood, like a fire”. When I look at this picture I can imagine the Holy Spirit. We can’t see it but it’s all around us and in us. The Holy Spirit fills the spaces of our hearts and minds as well as our churches, our homes, and our work places. In this verse, we can ask God to lead us on level ground. As we go to our places of worship today, let’s ask the Holy Spirit to flood us. Let that flood guide our worship experiences.

As we go throughout our week, everyday we are like toddlers in our Christian walk. We must seek God to teach us to do His will. We should be on repeat, “Daddy are we there yet” or “Daddy how much longer?” Remember those car trips that seemed to detour and last forever. We should keep that child like faith! Will you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you this week? Even when it seems you have detoured, keep the faith.

Last night I enjoyed ice cream like I was a child again. Everyone needs a little sprinkles in their life, right? This verse from proverbs can apply to all God’s children; “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Pro 31:25‬ ‭NIV‬‬. Why cry when we can laugh?

As we go about our Friday, let’s remind ourselves that we are clothed in God’s strength. Will you choose to enjoy the sprinkles? Will you choose to find laughter? I pray we can all find a little joy on this finish Friday.

I love Thankful Thursdays! They bring a change of perspective. My daughter Kendal recently shared with me a quote by Abraham Lincoln; “We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses”. That quote reminds me of the verses from 1 The 5: 16-18 NIV; “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” ‬‬

I think by praying continually helps us to rejoice always! On this Thankful Thursday, let’s all thank God for the thorns and the roses. No matter what our circumstances our today, may we all find ways to rejoice.

These two verses from Isaiah have been a huge drive in my life since about 2015; ““Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God first gave me these verses through Deborah when I was contemplating going back to school. At that time it wasn’t the right time but fast forward a few years and I ended going back to school and getting a degree. It has also been a huge drive for Water Walking.

Our blog has evolved and changed over the years. We are constantly learning from the past, yet not staying stuck in the past. God is constantly doing new things through each of us. We appreciate each of you for being an important part in our blog journey.

Once upon a time we did not use our own pictures and at some point we started creating our own. You will now start to see a mixture of our own photos and those taken by our friend Ray White. This beautiful Water picture reminds me that even when life is clouded, we need to keep seeking God and the plan he has for us.

On this Water Walking Wednesday I encourage you to listen to the lyrics in this song; What If by Matthew West. We all have what if’s, but what if today’s the only day we have. Go make a splash and walk on water.

Let’s do a self check from verse Col 1:10 NIV; “so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,”

Are you growing in the knowledge of God? Are you pleasing him in every way? Are you bearing fruit in every good work?

Bearing fruit is yielding results. Good works are actions based on our hearts. Like this succulent holds water and grows, we can hold the word of God and grow too.

On this Transformation Tips Tuesday let’s celebrate little victories that help us grow and bear fruit. It could be spending time in God’s word, helping someone in need, serving in church, or simply loving others.
