Sometimes when the journey seems long or the past seems muddled we can get discouraged. Deborah and I both like to journal our devotions, prayers, and sermon messages. We like to journal dreams, gratitudes, and answered prayers. When we journal, we can look back and remember. We can connect the dots to God’s faithfulness.

On this Water Walking Wednesday I encourage us all to make a daily habit to journal. If you already journal, take a moment to look back and reflect. Part of being a Water Walker is is remembering the power that is running through our veins. Take a member to listen to the lyrics of this song; Remember by Bryan and Katie Torwalt

I am a beginner in the planting process. I have used the same little pot to start out both my succulents and my cactus. This past Sunday I transferred the plants into bigger pots because they had outgrown the little pot and flower box they lived in. This reminds me, are we making room to grow in our Christian walk?

We should never fully mature at being a Christian. God wants us to get planted in His word and flourish. When we stop growing, we should evaluate why. Maybe we need to serve in other areas at church or in our communities. Maybe we need to join a small group at church.

On this Transformation Tips Tuesday , I encourage us all to pray and ask God to plant the desire in us to keep striving, to keep growing in our Christian walk so that we can flourish.

God worked it out for Mary. God worked it out for Elizabeth. God will work it out for you and I too. On this Mindset Monday, let’s remember that nothing is impossible with God. Just like the seasons change, God is in control.

Will you choose to surrender your week, your days, your hours over to Him? Like this song, God will work it out. Some of the lyrics sing;

Be encouraged

Be still and know

Lean in

Take hope in God alone

I encourage you to worship God this morning as you listen to this song. Set your mind on things above on this Mindset Monday; God Will Work It Out By: Maverick City Music

On this Spiritual Sunday I want us to think about our tribes. We could have multiple tribes; small groups at church, friendships, and family. In Hebrews 10:25 NIV we are instructed to not give up meeting together; β€œnot giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherβ€”and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Relationships and fellowship are a vital key to our spiritual growth.

Have you ever tried running in sand? It can be very challenging. Sometimes you feel as though you are running in place. Look at these patches of beach grass, some hardier than others. Our tribes help nurture and strengthen us. God made us for relationships, especially for days it feels like we are running in place. As we go to our places of worship today, I pray we will all gain strength from God and our tribes.

I think this song, β€œBe Alright” is so beautiful. Todo Va A Esta Bien is translated Everything will be fine; Be Alright by Danny Gokey, Evan Craft, and Redimi2

Does it feel like you lost the Petals to your rose? Anytime we have a hard rain, we loose some rose petals. No matter what the week has looked like for each of us, it is going to be alright. God holds the world in His hands; β€œWho has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?” Isaiah‬ ‭40:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

On this Finish Friday let’s remember who holds the world and who picks up our petals. Everything will be alright.

We never have to worry about receiving an invitation when it comes to our relationship with God. We don’t have to wonder, will we make the list? Will we get an invite? Our social status is nonexistent. Like this empty bench, there is always a place we can retreat with God. There is always a plus one.

Are we accepting the invite? Are we choosing to follow God? Are we choosing rest? Look over your calendar today and see if you can be honest with yourself. Over the past few weeks I was forced to rest due to COVID. Although I missed people interaction, it was a nice change of pace to be forced to rest. On this Thankful Thursday I can look back and be thankful for the opportunity to sit with God longer. I found myself finding joy in the little things like a full moon lighting up the sky. I hope we can all lean into God today and accept His invitation.

β€œThen, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, β€œCome with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”” Mark‬ ‭6:31‬ ‭NIV‬

Ok so I know this really isn’t a mountain pictured here but it is as close as I can get in our coastal area. One of my favorite verses in Psalm 121:1-2 NIV references mountains; β€œI lift up my eyes to the mountainsβ€” where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” We can look to the mountains as God’s creation. He is the maker of all things so our help comes from Him.

SOS is an international code signal of distress. This is commonly used out at sea. It is an urgent appeal for help. On this Water Walking Wednesday we don’t have to wait to be rescued by an SOS rescue mission. We can say a simple breath prayer or go to the prayer room and stay in His presence.

Do you feel like you are out at sea waiting to be rescued? Don’t forget to look up. God is waiting for you to ask for help.
