Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Have you heard of the Butterfly Effect? The theory of the Butterfly Effect is that small things can have big impacts. Everything we do is a ripple effect. You flap your wings. You take that next step and only God knows the magnitude of the blessing. The same is true for prayer. We read in James 5:16 how prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective.

The butterfly is also a symbol of change. In today’s key verse God tells us to expect change. How can we change our former way of thinking? Through prayer we can flap the wings of Godly change.

Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You for always doing new things. I surrender this day to You and seek to flap my wings. I desire to make an impact for Your glory. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
