‭‭Luke‬ ‭7‬:‭37‬-‭38‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

Some words that come to mind when referring to spiritual obedience are stillness, prayer, listening, submission, humility, faith, and action. Today, we will discuss submission. In today’s reading, let’s look at submissive obedience. This was an expensive jar of perfume. She took something that was valuable to her to worship Jesus. We can visualize her weeping at Jesus’ feet. Have you ever been moved so much during worship that it brought you to tears? This may occur when our hearts are submissive in worship.

Good news, Jesus doesn’t need us to pour perfume out for Him today, but He does want our submissive hearts. He wants to see our obedience through worship. What words, scriptures, or songs come to mind when you think of obedience and submission?

I encourage you to listen and worship to, Let The Alabaster Break by Lizzie Morgan. Let’s pray.

Dear God, thank You for the ability to worship You. I lay at Your feet today in complete surrender. I love You and praise You! In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — pray continually.

Some words that come to mind when referring to spiritual obedience are stillness, prayer, listening, submission, humility, faith, and action. Today, we will discuss prayer and humility. My word of the year for 2025 is Humble. In order to be humble, I must continually seek God through prayer. Some days I may not feel worthy but through God’s mercy and grace, I can approach His throne with confidence.

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Tara-Leigh Cobble with The Bible Recap has said, “true humility is confident humility — the confidence comes from looking to God as our source, and the humility comes from seeing ourselves in light of who God is. Confident humility is when you’re not building yourself up or beating yourself up.”

To be obedient to God and His perfect will, we must always do it with humility. What words, scriptures, or songs come to mind when you think of obedience, prayer, and humility. Take time today to meditate on those things.

Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You that I can approach You in prayer with humble confidence. I submit to Your will and desire to walk in obedience. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen

‭‭Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.”

Some words that come to mind when referring to spiritual obedience are stillness, prayer, listening, submission, humility, faith, and action. Today, we will discuss faith. Until recently I had never compared Luke and Matthew’s account of the mustard seed. In Luke, the disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith, while in Matthew the amount of their faith.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭17‬:‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — Jesus replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.””

It is encouraging that nothing is impossible with God and that we only need tiny faith to see God move. I encourage you to listen to, Faith of a Mustard Seed with WorshipMob by Colton and Claudia May.

What words, scriptures, or songs come to mind when you think of obedience and faith? Take time today to meditate on those things.

Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You for the faith of a mustard seed. I summit to Your will today and seek to walk in obedience. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Esther‬ ‭8‬:‭11‬, ‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — The king’s edict granted the Jews in every city the right to assemble and protect themselves; to destroy, kill and annihilate the armed men of any nationality or province who might attack them and their women and children, and to plunder the property of their enemies. For the Jews it was a time of happiness and joy, gladness and honor. In every province and in every city to which the edict of the king came, there was joy and gladness among the Jews, with feasting and celebrating. And many people of other nationalities became Jews because fear of the Jews had seized them.

This week we have been sharing the story of Esther. This is the only book in the Bible that does not mention God. We invite you to look for God throughout the week.

Today’s reading comes after Haman has been impaled and killed. The edict to kill the Jews could not be stopped but the King was able to issue an edict that allowed the Jews to fight back.

Where is God in today’s reading? Today’s story ended with a great outcome. The plan may not have been what we would have envisioned but God’s goodness comes in all shapes and sizes! Will you use this Savor Saturday to recall the goodness of God and the joy He gives you?

Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You for giving me the joy that only You can offer. I desire to be an Esther for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
