Today is Transformation Tips Tuesday so I chose these pictures of a transformation I made possible. These pics are of my gas stove. As you can see on the top picture, something had spilled and caused a mess. The stove was dirty and ugly looking. The bottom picture is after I cleaned it and it looked like new again. Jesus Christ does the same for you and I.

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:5-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We all sin and fall short. We must confess our sins and allow Jesus to cleanse us through His sacrifice for us. Just like my stove will get dirty again, so will we fall short again. Prayerfully, as we are cleansed, we will learn and grow so that we don’t commit the same sin over and over.

As you go about your day today, notice things around you that have been cleansed or transformed. Let these things be reminders of how simple it is to begin to be transformed by Jesus. All we must do is confess our sins and ask for forgiveness. Throughout your day let the act of cleaning remind you and give God thanks for the cleansing blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Yesterday was a beautiful day of rejoicing as we celebrated the Resurrection of our Savior. Many of us worshipped and gave praise for the hope that Easter promises. However, today is Monday.

How are you starting this Mindset Monday? Are you still cruising on the high of Sunday or has a shadow been cast across you as you look at your week ahead? Has your focus changed to circumstances and problems?

Shadows are not always a bad thing. Shadows mean we are being protected from the blazing sun. A shadow can remind us of the love of God. Take a moment now to read all of Psalm 91.

Now click the link and listen to the song Rescue by Lauren Daigle. We have shared this song before, but today I encourage you to listen to the words through the lens of Easter. Some of the words include:

“You are not hidden. There’s never been a moment you were forgotten. You are not hopeless, though you have been broken, your innocence stolen. I hear you whisper underneath your breath. I hear your SOS. I will send an army to find you in the middle of the darkest night. It’s true, I will rescue you.”

Today, as you come off the high of Easter Sunday and face the worries of this world, rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Allow the Most High to rescue and protect you. When you see a shadow, let it be a reminder of the Lord’s vast love for you!

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1, 3-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The prophesies we read about in the Old Testament have been fulfilled today! Imagine the joy of Heaven on this Spiritual Sunday! God has watched His Son walk through the trials of Holy Week. He has seen the suffering, crucifixion, and death of Jesus. Today God gives us the victory with Our Savior rolling away the stone and overcoming death. Imagine the celebration as the story unfolds and the light of Christ shines through the darkness of the world.

Are you filled with joy this morning? Or are you covered with darkness? Do you have a current trial that has you feeling hopeless? Don’t give up. Turn to the light of the world to show you the way. Allow Jesus to be your Savior and walk with Him toward Hope. Give God the opportunity to roll away the stones that entrap you. After all, He is still in the business of Rolling Stones and bringing light into darkness.

Listen to this song of victory by Lauren Daigle, Still Rolling Stones as you begin your celebration this Easter morning. Hold on to the hope and promise that the victory of Easter brings us. Share the joy of heaven!

Solitude is the state or situation of being alone. Sometimes we all need solitude. We all need time to be alone with God to process and pray. Time alone with God gives us rest and renews us.

Today is Finish Friday. Have you had a busy week? Are you tired and weary? Do you need some time alone to rejuvenate? Even Jesus realized the value and importance of solitude.

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.””
‭‭Mark‬ ‭6:31‬ ‭NIV

“After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭14:23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:35‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

As you finish the work week, make a plan to step away from your busy schedule at some point this weekend. Be intentional in choosing a block of time that you can spend talking and listening to God. Where can you go or what can you do to have some solitude? You could take a walk, sit on your porch, or simply go in a room by yourself. It doesn’t have to be a large block of time. Often we feel we can’t take the time to be alone when we have a long to-do list. Just remember, even Jesus recognized the value of solitude. Finish this week with some solitude so you are prepared to walk through next week’s Holy Week by the side of Christ.

Love. I am thankful for love. There are many types of love. This Thankful Thursday I am thankful for the love of my family. Love isn’t always neat or easy, especially family love.

Let me be totally transparent. My family is far from perfect. I am not the perfect parent and my children are not perfect either. But we do love each other, faults and all. My family love is just one of many things I am grateful to have in my life.

For what are you thankful? If I asked you to make a list of 100 things you are grateful for, would it be a hard task? How about 25? 10? 5? If you struggle to make a list, I encourage you to Google “things to be grateful for.” We each have so many blessings. We rush through our days and miss many of those blessings.

Take a few minutes this morning and make a gratitude list. Start with love. List all the things that exemplify love in your life. Think big things and small. Starting your day with gratitude will affect the rest of your day in a positive way!

Last Tuesday night we were in Dillon for a baseball game and it was cold! Towards the end of the game I decided to walk to the concession stand to buy a cup of hot chocolate. When I make hot chocolate I simply open a bought packet of hot chocolate mix, pour it in the cup, and add hot water. On special occasions I may add mini marshmallows. Imagine my surprise when the lady taking my order asked, “What would you like in your hot chocolate?” Puzzled and intrigued by her question I asked, “What are my options?” The toppings included whip cream, marshmallows, and chocolate drizzled on top. As you can see in the picture, I chose all 3 toppings! The workers in the concession stand took a simple drink and went the extra mile to make it delicious.

During the Sermon on the Mount Jesus directed you and I to also go the extra mile.

““You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:38-42‬ ‭NIV‬‬

How do you go the extra mile? What are ways you show the love of Christ by going over and above for others?

Today is Water Walking Wednesday. I encourage you to read the entire Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5. Then think about ways you can go the extra mile. Intentionally plan a way to show the love of Christ today by going above and beyond. Let your service to others be like a fully loaded hot chocolate!
