Today’s thoughts by Julie Wicker

Luke 24:13-16 NIV — Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.  As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them;  but they were kept from recognizing him.

This week we are sharing thoughts about interruptions. An interruption can be stopping activity for a time or break in the continuity of something. What comes to mind when you think of interruption?

Often we think of interruptions in our day and schedules. Take a moment to think about God’s interruptions. God interrupted through Jesus on the walk to Emmaus. The two men didn’t know that it was Jesus walking alongside them. Sometimes God has to interrupt me several times before I realize that He is the one interrupting.

Are you experiencing an interruption? In a fast paced world with a lot of white noise, it is easy to miss God’s interruptions. Take a moment to read the full story, Luke 24:13-35 NIV. Evaluate what areas of your life that God is interrupting you.

Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You for walking with me even when I don’t see You. Open my eyes to see and experience all that You have for me. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
