Take some time today to meditate on this week’s scripture verses.

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭14‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

John‬ ‭14‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

We are always looking to God on how we can grow that blog by listening to His nudges. We are not sure what is ahead but we know that God continues to show off. Looking forward to the next step out of the boat as we continue to walk on water. Thank you everyone who supports us helps us in sharing God’s word.

2 Corinthians 5 NIV

2 Corinthians 5:7 NIV — For we live by faith, not by sight. 

Often in our Christian churches we talk about faith. Martin Luther King, Jr. summed up faith by saying — Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.

Water walking is a display of faith. Without faith in your Savior, you would not be able to step out of the boat and walk across the water. Last week Julie shared with us about nudges from God. Have you been listening? I pray that during the last few days you have been praying about any nudges you have received from God to get up and move. What is God asking you to do in His name? Whatever it is, I know God has picked you for the task for a reason. On this thankful Thursday, thank God for choosing you, listen to His nudge, get out of your boat, and take the first step.

Let’s pray. Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the opportunities You give me to be a water walker. Open my eyes to Your calling. Give me the strength and courage I need to step out of my boat of comfort and be a water walker. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Hebrews 11 NIV

Hebrews 11:1 NIV — Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Hebrews 11 tells of person after person who stepped out and walked on water. The Bible doesn’t use the term water walking, but instead talks of faith. Each of the person’s named in this chapter accomplished great things. In fact, those listed are often referred to as members of the Bible Hall of Fame or the Hall of Faith. 

One definition of faith is complete trust. Do you have complete trust in God? Imagine the Bible writers were interviewing you to be recognized as a member of the Hall of Faith. When have you exhibited great faith? How have you stepped out, walked on water, and shown that you have complete trust in Him?

Let’s pray. Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the opportunities You give me to be a water walker. Open my eyes to Your calling. Give me the strength and courage I need to step out of my boat of comfort and be a water walker. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Matthew 14:22-33 NIV

Matthew 14:29 NIV — Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 

Today’s scripture is the basis of our blog. Years ago, Julie and I took a step out of our boats and walked on water. Each day, week, month, year, we have put one foot in front of the other and now it has been nearly 10 years. Some posts come naturally and easily, while others are a struggle and require true walking on water. Like Peter, if we take our eyes off of Jesus, we begin to sink. As we call out to our Savior, He comes to our rescue and walks alongside us to enable us to share His words of love, grace, mercy, and acceptance. 

This week we will explain what water walking means to us and we pray you will examine what it means to you. Have you ever given it any thought when looking at your own life? How has God challenged you to be a water walker? How have you stepped out of your boat? 

Let’s pray. Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the opportunities You give me to be a water walker. Open my eyes to Your calling. Give me the strength and courage I need to step out of my boat of comfort and be a water walker. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
