1 Timothy 4:16 NIV — Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
While at the beach, I noticed some seashells had barnacles. If we aren’t careful, we too can grow barnacles. We grow barnacles by not filtering what we take in every day and allowing negativity, labels, social media, and stress to alter our actions and reactions. Timothy reminds us that we should watch and guard this life God has given us closely.
As I tasted the salty air, it reminded me that as Christians, we are the salt of the Earth. As a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker, it is my responsibility to take Christ with me. Daily we must shed the barnacles and take up our cross.
Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You for entrusting me with being the salt of the Earth. As a Water Walker, I strive to shed my barnacles, take up my cross, and lead others to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
