Acts 1:8 NIV — But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Occasionally I will enjoy a Roasted Dandelion Root Tea which is used as an herbal supplement to support healthy digestion. On the box, it states that the personality of a dandelion root is resilient, tough, and supportive. The intricacies of the dandelion leave me in awe of God’s creation. The thought that God equipped man to use the root of this flower to create a tea amazes me as well. In my mind, the dandelion is no longer a pesky weed.

Just like the flower, God leaves His fingerprint on us with the Holy Spirit. Max Lucado has said every flower is a fingerprint of God’s spirit. Lucado references Acts 1:8 NIV — But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

What are your thoughts on Lucado’s analogy? As you walk on water today, remember that God has His fingerprint on you. God can equip you to do amazing things for His kingdom and His glory.

Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You for giving me the gift of Your Holy Spirit. May others see Your fingerprint on me as I walk on water for Your glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭33‬:‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Presence means the state or fact of existing, occurring, or being present in a place or thing. Once on a country road, I drove through a sea of dandelions flying in the air. For a moment it looked like snow. Immediately this image triggered a thought of the Holy Spirit carrying us, guiding us, and being present with us.

You may think of a dandelion being a pesky weed. Dandelion’s official name is “Taraxacum Officinale.” It starts out as a yellow blossom that matures into a puffball. The white fuzz is attached to a seed that acts as a parachute. When the seed parachute is taken by a strong breeze it gets planted somewhere else and grows once again into a Dandelion. This weed even knows to close like an umbrella before the rain comes. The seed reminded me of us as God’s children. The parachutes reminded me of the presence of the Holy Spirit guiding us along, planting us to grow as His disciples.

Think about the song, “Made For More” by Josh Baldwin, featuring Jenn Johnson. We are all made for so much more. This includes the pesky dandelion weed.

Let’s pray. Dear God, thank You for Your presence that gives me both strength and rest. Help me remember as I go about my day that I am made for more. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭96‬:‭1‬-‭4‬, ‭9‬ ‭NIV‬ — Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.

Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.

Join us as we wrap up our week with Deborah sharing on surrender.

Let’s pray. Dear God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV — Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Those of you who know me may remember that in the summer of 2019 my family and I were in the process of preparing our house of 18 years to sell. At the time I did not know how long the process would take nor did I know where we would end up living. However through the process God showed me that I must surrender control. He gave me peace and I learned to rest in the knowledge that He would guide and direct our path. My ability to surrender does not come easily. However I have learned  when I surrender to His control, I can relax.

I encouraged you earlier in the week to ask God to reveal an area that you needed to surrender control. Did He? Have your eyes been opened? Perhaps it is related to your health or the health of a loved one, your future, or your finances. The list could go on and on. Whatever the area for you I pray that you are able to surrender and trust God so that as a result you may be able to relax. Maybe you can even take a nap!

Let’s pray. Dear God, help me to let go and surrender. May I allow You to be in control so I may relax in your loving arms. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
