“Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again.” James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

What a beautiful photo taken by Ray White. The various colors of the leaves reminds me of the changing of seasons. Just like the trees change each season, we too change throughout the various seasons of our lives. Today I am reminded of the praying friends that I have gained in each season of life and I am thankful.

Have you ever had a concern and texted or called a friend to ask them to be praying for you? This Thankful Thursday, let’s reflect on the Christian friends around us that we know will pray when we ask them to. Take a few minutes today to thank at least one of your praying friends for their faithfulness.

Conversely, what an honor it is to be asked to pray for someone. When a friend asks you to pray, it is a reflection of the faith you show. If someone asks you to pray they are trusting you with their needs and desires. The next time you are asked to pray for someone, respond by saying, “Thank you for trusting me with your request.” Be sure to value your praying friend and be a praying friend in return.
