#youareessential

I want you to think of yourself as this beautiful blossomed tree. You are strong. So strong that you can carry this birdhouse for the birds to feed. You are beautiful. So beautiful that you are admired by all those that see your beauty. Now I ask this question from 1 Cor 3:16 NIV; Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s spirit dwells in your midst? I am a firm believer in nurturing both our mental and physical health. Since we are a temple for God’s spirit, shouldn’t we take care of our bodies?

As you envision yourself as this beautiful blossomed tree, I want you to envision John 15: 1-2 NIV “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes so that I will be even more fruitful”. Are you striving to become more fruitful? Some ways I strive to become more fruitful is to get into God’s word, daily movement, personal development, and friendship accountability. Striving to become more fruitful is essential aspect to self-care.

Looking at the buds on this tree you can see that it is well nourished. When we refuel with God’s word and indulge in self-care we become a tree of life for our family and friends; “She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her; those who hold her fast will be blessed” Pro 3:18 NIV.

Go to a mirror and see what God sees in you. I want you to tell your reflection:

I am a child of God.

I am worth it.

I am essential.

Satan has no hold on me.

That reflection is meant to do great things for God’s kingdom. Will you allow God to be your gardener? Will you give yourself the gift of self-care so that you will be a tree of life for others?
