Together as a community we have been on what seems to be on a long journey with no end in sight. So many are working long hours and risking their lives to keep us educated, safe, fed, and healthy while others are unable to work and struggling to stay afloat. I encourage the weary to give your burdens to God. In Matt 11:28 – 30 we read; “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light”.

Our community has never felt so distant, yet so close as we help each other and find new ways to communicate. I had recently been reminded of the story in Exodus 17 with Moses, Aaron, and Hur, when the Amalekites were defeated. Notice It says, “defeated”. We will defeat this battle with the Coronavirus.

Ex 17: 8-15 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill. As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up one on one side, one on the other – so that his hands remained steady till sunset.

My husband is an RV Technician. Recently the kids and I helped him put a new awning fabric on a camper. It was a hot afternoon and it was taking longer than usual to get the old awning fabric off. A few neighbors could see we needed help and came to assist us. With our arms raised above our heads, we all took turns holding up the awning arm. When one would grow weary, another would offer to take over. I feel that same sense with our community as we go through this Corona Virus. When one grows weary, a neighbor, a friend, a church member, a co-worker will help in any way they can with our burdens.

#Prayer #Battlefield

Father,

We live in a dark world where darkness is over the peoples, but you rise upon me and your glory appears over me Isa: 60:2. The battle is not mine to be won, for all I need to do is call your name 1 Sam 17:47. I will walk in the light of your presence, I am blessed Psalm 89:15. I will give thanks in all circumstances for I know it is your will 1 Thes 5:18. May I be joyful in hope, Patient in affliction and faithful in prayer Rom 12:12. I stand on the promise that I will walk and not be faint, I will run and not grow weary, I will soar on wings because I put my hope in you, I renew my strength Isa 40:31. Nothing is impossible with you Luke 1:37

In the name of Jesus Amen

In this song “Praise You Through This Storm” by Casting Crowns when our strength is almost gone, we can praise Him in this storm. He references the scripture in Psalms 121: 1-2 “Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth”.

In this song “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle, we can send out an SOS and God will send out an army to find us in the middle of the darkest night. God will rescue us through many different avenues like a neighbor.
