#clotheyourselfwithstrength
Let’s open our bibles to Proverbs 31:25 NIV “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she can laugh at the days to come”.
~Before we pull the covers and our feet hit the floor, let’s clothe ourselves in strength so that the Joy of the Lord will carry us into our tomorrows~
This morning, I tried pouring my coffee into an upside-down coffee cup. Thankfully I realized it before I made a mess. I chuckled because I thought of us with our bodies and our minds in comparison to the cup being turned over. Our current physical state or state of mind might look messy right now. We may have tried pouring God’s word, motivational speakers, self-help books, and/or a new diet plan into our upside-down cup and nothing happens or changes. We get discouraged so rather than identifying the source of the problem, we get frustrated, we may even give up. For me personally I have been on a Journey to find Joy long before my Dad got cancer and my running story began. I daily must remind myself to turn my cup right-side up. Kind of like that saying, glass half-full verses glass half-empty state of mind. It is hard to live in a state of gratitude if we have nowhere for those gratitude’s to live.
Before we pull the covers and our feet hit the floor, let’s clothe ourselves in strength so that the Joy of the Lord will carry us into our tomorrows. I love Proverbs 31. This verse on Strength and Dignity really spoke to me as I was preparing to write. Strength means; the quality or state of being physically strong. Dignity means; the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect. In the NLT version, is says we can laugh without fear of the future. So how do we live and walk in this instruction today? In chapter 4 of the book Ephesians, we are instructed on Christian living. In verses 23-24; To be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. We need a renewal of our minds daily. We need to intentionally turn our coffee cups right-side up. Let me reassure you, it is ok to ask for help, as our state of mind is a key part to are strength.
Let me ask you; How does your cup stand up?
