As I have shared over the last weeks, our family is in the process of preparing our home to sell and also looking at possible places to move. If any of you have experienced any part of this process you know it is a long, tedious and exhausting process. We are thankfully towards the end of the process of preparing our house and are excited to begin to get serious about looking for our new home.

I have felt this coming for years. I remember sharing with Julie the nudge I had from God about our house. If I hadn’t already packed up my older journals I would share with you just how long this has been on my heart. Suffice it to say that it has been years.  However other members of my family were not ready yet. So I have waited. Now that everyone is on board I have had such a peace about the process. While it has been a lot of work and will involve a lot more work, I have used this process as a time to pray, listen, and hear God. As I de-cluttered I asked God to help me decide if the items were necessary or not. As I cleaned door frames and window sills I thanked God for this house and how it has been a blessing to us and the memories made here. I share that to say, you really can continually pray. While I have been working hard I have also been close to God.

Meanwhile we have found one particular house that we feel may be the house for us. We have been looking at it on-line for weeks. We have rode by it several times and last week finally had a realtor show us the inside. We had her show us several different houses. When we drove up to this particular house I felt differently than I did at any of the others. When we went inside I became overcome with emotion. I hesitate to share all this with you because we are still so early in the buying process and this may not be the house for us. But God reassured me that He has His hand on us and the process. He gave me peace. He winked!

This week I began on Sunday sharing with you about our word/words of the week and told you we would talk about listening and hearing God. In church that day I felt God nudge me to reserve a space in my journal to write down the God winks He sends in regard to this moving process.

In the book of Habakuk the prophet spends the first chapter registering complaints to God. In the second chapter God replies to the prophet.

“Then the Lord replied: ‘Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.’” Habakuk 2:2-3

So I will write down the revelations and wait. This week I have been able to write down 5 different occurrences that God has winked and reassured me about the process.

Now what about you? Do you have a situation in your life that has you waiting? Spend some time continually praying about it, listening to God and hearing His words of assurance. I encourage you to write down the revelations. Then you can see the hand of God working in and through the situation. If you feel unsure of where to start then start with the Bible. Romans 10:17 tells us “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” I challenge you to spend some time in the next week reading scriptures and taking some notes. Write down what jumps out at you or even what steps on your toes. I am sure that if you commit to do this practice for a week that at some point this week you will hear the voice of God. Listen, hear, and write it down. Then praise God for His winks!
