#create by: Deborah Ard
“In the beginning God created…” From the beginning, God has been the Creator of all. He created the heavens and earth, day, night, the sky, land, seas, vegetation, the sun, the moon, living creatures, and humans. Today God continues to create. I realized this last week during my prayer time. My requests were for changes within my spirit. In my Bible study I ran across Psalm 51:10
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
This is a psalm of David from the time after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba. David was admitting his sins and asking for forgiveness. However he was also asking God to create. My question for you is what do you ask God to create? Do you ask God to create peace in a chaotic situation, a path of direction, healing, or something else? We do not always word our prayers asking for God to create, but ultimately that is what we are meaning. So I challenge you to be mindful today as you make your requests of God. What is the root of your requests? Are you asking for God to create?
In return, I ask, what are you creating for God? What are you doing with the gifts and talents given to you? Romans 12:6-8 tells us “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith, if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement, if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” How are you responding to the call on your life to create and glorify your Creator? Today examine your actions and then respond.
Listen to the following song as you are worshiping your Creator.
