#NewKindOfResolution by: Julie Wicker
New Year’s Resolutions tend to be long forgotten by Spring. January comes, and we are ready to try the latest diet to help us loose the extra pounds we gained at Christmas. As our calendar begins to fill up again and we get lost in our busy routines we quickly loose site of the goals we have set.
Have you ever thought to set a spiritual resolution? I recently listened to a pod cast from Priscilla Shirer “Resolution for Women, A resolution to be content”. She inspired me to set a Spiritual Resolution rather than a New Year’s Resolution.
Here goes my Spiritual Resolution;
I resolve to conquer my fear!
I will live my life on purpose, earnestly seeking to honor my Lord in my actions & reactions. I will focus on His promises and not my fears. I will spend time in His word & prayer, basking in His truths so that I can demolish any strongholds. I will hear His call & respond by becoming the wife, mother, daughter, Sister, and friend God has designed me to be. I commit to leaving a legacy of faith.
I resolve to be Brave!
I now encourage you to write a Spiritual Resolution!!

Resolution: a firm decision to do or not to do something synonyms: intention, resolve, decision, plan, aim
It’s February and most New Year’s resolutions have been thrown by the wayside. Why do we make resolutions at the beginning of a new year? Because it’s like a fresh start, a clean slate, a do-over. And we make resolutions for areas of our lives that we desire to improve and promise to do better. It’s never too late to make improvements or make a plan for living intentionally. The Bible tells us “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion saith my soul; therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:22-24 KJV
Therefore, let’s prayerfully make a spiritual resolution, a plan for being intentional in our spiritual journey. Consider an aspect of your spiritual walk that you desire to strengthen. Below is mine.
I resolve to exhibit unwavering trust and faith! Week to week, day to day, moment by moment, I will adopt a prayerful attitude. With a prayerful attitude I will approach each situation and encounter so that even when I cannot see the outcome or direction, I will trust God’s direction and have faith in His will for my life. I lay before the Lord my children and my marriage and trust God’s guidance as I become the parent and wife He desires me to be. I will be steadfast in trusting Him and have faith in His direction for my life. I resolve to have unwavering trust and faith!

I love this Julie. It has prompted me to right a spiritual resolution of my own.
I will love the Lord my God with all my heart and soul. I will put Him first every morning and every night
I will strive to be the Godly wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend He created me to be. By His strength and His will be done!
